She is the daughter of the sun god Helios and the ocean nymph Perse. Kirki resides on the island of Aiaia, where she encounters Odysseus during his journey in Homer's "Odyssey." Using her knowledge of potions and magic, she initially turns Odysseus' men into pigs, but later, impressed by Odysseus’ resistance to her spells, she becomes his ally and lover, helping him continue his voyage. Kirki is both feared and respected for her supernatural powers and mysterious nature.
