Candle Holders

Candle holders (or "kandilakia" and "kandilostasia") play a vital role in both the liturgical space and devotional practices in Greek Orthodoxy.

Standing Candle Holders (Καντηλοστάσια / Kandilostasia) - Hold large beeswax candles and are typically found near the entrance (narthex), before icons, or in front of the iconostasis. They are often made of brass or bronze, with ornate decoration. May be single or multi-tiered.
